Why soy matters for a smoke scent
Smoke fragrance notes are volatile and easy to ruin with heat. Burn them too hot and the delicate cool-smoke top note vanishes in the first fifteen minutes, leaving only the heavy base — which is exactly why so many "bonfire" candles smell like a dirty grill.
Soy wax's lower melt temperature preserves that top note through the whole burn. It's the technical reason our Campfire smells like a fire starting rather than a fire that went out.
Burn it properly
First burn: three hours. Edge-to-edge melt pool. Non-negotiable for soy.
Trim to ¼ inch. Smoke scents are unforgiving of a mushroomed wick — you'll add real soot to fragrant smoke and it will smell wrong.
Four hours per session, maximum.
Give it 20 minutes before you expect the room to fill. Soy builds.
An honest note on strength
Campfire is one of our bolder scents. In a small room, start with the 8oz Classic. In an open-plan living space or a large room with high ceilings, go to the 24oz Prestige — anything smaller will get lost.
